Italy - Serie A1 2019/20

  • Foecke disappoints me so far. Her reception is okay, but in attack all she does is a roll-shot. In NCAA she used to be a powerful player.:(

When she doesn't get the perfect set, she hits roll shot. She was totally same in NCAA. Never tries for high hands...Hits power or roll shot. I was expecting her to use the block more after turning pro, but she doesnt.

  • Nika Daalderop!:super:She is giving De Gennaro a hard time:cheesy:

  • It's a shame the match ended in 3 sets. The third set both teams showed some great volleyball, but some unforced errors and Egonu were just to much in the end.

Daalderop played great, both in defense and offense:obey: She should have started:whistle:

Big drama in Caserta, once again, after today's defeat. The headline of the official website of the club says:

"Such a shame!!!! Team without morality and without dignity. The 27th December Bechis, Cruz, Alhassan, Gray, Holzer, team manager and athletic trainer will be dismissed. They can start looking for another team."

Apart from the fact that this headline and the article is totally unprofessional and disgusting in my opinion, according to rumors it's actually the players who want to leave as soon as possible because they are not getting paid... As usual, the president of Caserta Nicola Turco (who is the one who writes on that website) finds excuses and creates dramas to hide the truth.

The situation in Caserta is every day more ridiculous, for not saying embarassing.

  • Ouch, I am able to recall one television commercial here in Sweden for Italian pasta. It went on something like this: "Italians are simply more passionate about life than the rest of us. When they love, they love, and when they cook, they cook". This time, one might assume they surprised with their passion in a less fortunate fashion. In order to balance the view, they could - with toxic comments from Diouf and Pavan (Italian citizen with Italian parents) in mind - have added something like this in the advertising: "when they get unprofessional, they get unprofessional".

  • The management of Caserta could hardly have been asked for much more given the material they are in possession of. The current record of the team after half of the season - two wins and ten losses - reflects fairly well where they stand in terms of individual quality in light of where the other teams in the league find themselves in this regard, at least in my opinion. They could, from a realistic view, hardly have expected a very contrasting outcome than this before the start of the season. If so, they would either have to be suffering from lack of volleyball knowledge or simply being deluded with serious reality distortions.

  • Cruz having one hell of a season, Alhassan, one of the best MB of the league, being rumored to play in Fenerbahçe, Gray showing a HUGE potential and they are the problem of Caserta.. okay, mr president, okay, try to pay their salaries next time...

  • It's really sad. I was afraid of such drama since when they got promoted, so sorry for the players!

I don't even think he can just change half of the team according to the rules..

  • I am having a hard time to understand something, are non of the players getting paid but only mentioned players objected to the situation? Or all of them objected but only those players were dismissed?

I am sorry for those who give their work, energy and time to something and don’t receive any respect or money in return. SHAME.

  • I just checked Alexa Gray's stats, they're mighty impressive. She is averaging 18 pts per game and has killed 47% (!) of the balls in attack. For an outside hitter, such numbers are rare independent of the context. It makes no sense whatsoever to dispatch the best offensive OH, in terms of attacking efficiency, in the entire league. The great with it, on the other hand, is that it enables her to show off her talents in a more competent environment already this season - serious clubs in need of an OH should have their eyes open for the development.

I completely agree with you. Gray has been playing great since the beginning of the season. I wish she finds a better club and keep growing. She deserves it.

Like her, also all the other players of the team of course and also the coach who has proved to be a good one for many years now.

  • Excited to see if Busto is able to put up a surprise against Imoco:cheesy:

  • Not only the best team in the world, but the best fans too

SOLD OUT FEW DAYS AGO ALREADY !!!!!!!!
