Peña Isabel whoa!
What did she do??
What did she do??
oh, she just killed one down the line. I always wonder why she doesn't play more, but I'm not super familiar with DOM's rotations

actually all of their OHs are very good, it's hard to choose. But IMO she should play more. She has so much power and every time she was on court this VNL she did a good job.
Martinez is 2m tall and defends like a libero
Oh gosh, this tie-break! They are exchanging leads so easy, it is super unpredictable. At the end, Japan learnt the lesson: stop serving Brenda! Try to avoid her as much as you can!
DOM has to try to score via block out because the Japanese defense is waiting for the long spikes.
What a plot twist from DR, VNL Medal contender.
Is this ironic? DR medal contender?!
stop serving Brenda!
Someone mentioned that earlier. I haven't seen it, and the numbers don't tell it
Great comeback by Japan , also China should be grateful.
DOM's reception was comical but they worked with it for a while. Japan is lucky DOM collapsed
Nice comeback by Japan, but very bad outcome for the Netherlands

Yea, she had 9 attempts, but for Brenda... that's 9 too many lol
She set the ball 40 times. Meanwhile Kobata only set 8 (+Inoue with 3).
What a comeback by Japan from a 2-set deficit. Ishikawa was unstoppable in the deciding set even when facing the tall block of J. Martinez. The defense and the speed of the counter attacks of JPN in the deciding set were a joy to watch
Congrats Japan! Another win coming back from 0-2! Showing they are a resilient team. Kurogo was superb killing most of the key balls in the tie-break, as well as the well known Japanese finally woke up in the clutch moments. Nevertheless, I think Japan still need to improve a a lot in order to show a decent performance in Tokyo. Most of the teams there wont blow up a 0-2 lead as Poland and DOM did.
What it really surprises me is the amount of point Japan loses cuz of miscommunication in the transitions. This is very unusual in their game. There are many balls which Momii doubt to arrive cuz of the libero or other player is there too, so they dont just keep the ball in play, but they dont actually set the ball to a spiker. So it translates in an easy ball for the rival who just replies with a strong spike.
DOM being DOM Once Japan stopped serving to Brenda, we all know Japan got more than 50% of the match won. They do need a reception specialist. Where is Ana Yorkira Binet? Marte once again couldnt just lift the ball, not even set, just lift the ball so her strong spikers could finish the point.
Happy to see Brenda back to her level

Was that's DOM's reception strategy? Pass the ball to Brenda

It should be if its not a perfect pass

Brenda is definitely the best setter of DR, much better than Marte…

Marte seemed kind of bored
No Roberta, Carol nor Lorenne for Brazil today.
Im starting to worry for Roberta ticket to Tokyo. It has been a while she hasnt had time on the court. Even not a full set.
Btw, I do hope Ze gives a rest to Gabi, Tandara and Fe Garay. But specially Gabi, who, if Im not wrong, has played in almost every single match.
For today's match, Carol, Lorenne, Natália and Roberta are out.
