Liar
Annerys Vargas is retiring
I think she was the last from Athens 2004 still playing (for their NT anyways)
Just found out Neslihan & Gozde retired on the same day??

wow that’s interesting to know. Both legends.
This Champions League final will be the final matches in some sort of ways to many of them. One last final match for Haak, Tugba in Vakifbank, Egonu in Conegliano, and MBH might also retire. 😭

none of them are retiring
She had a good run. Pretty good way to go.

She could play as starter at mid level teams but she preferred to get titles that she didn't contribute to #choices

I think she did contribute... It seems like she was a good captain and had a positive effect on the team, being a leader... The psychological side of things is important as well

Well I've never understood bench warmers being captains. True captainship is done on court while playing with your team (like gözde or Eda for example), otherwise she is just a cheerleader with a VakıfBank jersey
Kobata and Akutagawa are retiring
Shibata, Jahs and Fukagaya are transferring
Better to put this news here as well.
Sad to know that such a world class libero retires early at only 29. IMO she is the best in Asia of this generation.
Melis Gürkaynak, ending her career with CL title and gold medal. Once again thank you for everything Melis. She may have been on the bench all the time but I think she had a big role outside of the court and players talked about that. She was rumored to stay in Vakıfbank and take a role in Vakıfbank academy.

Even Maja put it on her IG few days ago "best captain I've ever had"

Shocked about Kobata. Also good thing that other players get to play outside Japan. it will bring good exchange for them.
Sheilla played her farewell match and retired from volleyball
