2019 / 2020 Transfer Rumors & Discussion (Female)

  • I agree, lot of asian can dominate europe if they will be given a chance. I know that language barrier might be one of the reason but so as same with other players who came from brazil, poland, canada etc... European club are only focusing getting players in europe or america but they should do some research and online searching, youtube is very helpfull. Thailand has good players. If they got kyk and zhu why not able to get other players too. Korea has good players and japan. Vietnam saw highlights of 4t very tall and playing in taiwan. Saw Philippine player in youtube who played in japan league jaja santiagosan who can play both wing and middle. Even Indonesia with manganang too.

her height is the only good thing about her. nothing else.

  • I hope the Sheilla rumour in Barueri isn't true.

Seeing Sheilla back in NT is unrealistic. I would be ecstatic if that happens but I like to see her as an assistant or trainer giving pointers to younger players in the team. She's been away from the game for a long time and I couldn't even tell if she's better than Monique or the Bruna anymore.

Favorite players: M: Maxim Mikhaylov, Murilo, Serginho, Aaron Russell, Otavio, Simone Giannelli, Ivan Zaytsev, Tsvetan Sokolov, Michał Kubiak, Mariusz Wlazly, Pawel Zagummy W: Sheilla, Zhu Ting, Natalia, Fe Garay, Fofao, Gabi, Thaisa, Foluke Akinradewo, Wei Qiuyue, Ding Xia, Carli Lloyd, Fabi, Natalia Goncharova, Yuko Sano, Saoris Kimura and Sakoda

Knowing Zé i think its definitely true, but i agree with you, its time for Brazil to finally build a new team and Sheilla could definitely helps in the mental processes of doing that. A lot of young players grew up with Sheilla as an idol, she could be a really good mentor and specially a good training coach.

I wouldn't categorically dismiss her like that. She's got an effective serve :serve: if that counts for anything :cheesy:

And maybe only because she was working with one of the best setters in the Japan league, but she was very effective in zone 3 attacks, bested only by Foluke and Sinéad in kill% at 53.4%. Sort of the way Miya Sato made good use of tall teenage turtle Mai Irasawa. She suffers from foreign-middle-blocker-dork-timing, but that's just a thing.

As a blocker? She's slow and not so wise yet. My understanding is that she plays on the wings in PHI and only tried the MB thing when coming to Japan. Be nice :drink:

Do I think she could be effective in Europe? No

  • I think she played MB during her college years in Philippines & played MB in some International games like SEA games. I'm sorry. I don't like her style of playing. She is like Diouf to me. Tall but slow af.

  • her height is the only good thing about her. nothing else.

Saw alot of highlights in youtube. She seems okay and playing in japan league is quite challenging too because of their defense. And it's a good thing that other asian countries has that kind of height aside from china. Hoping that more asian players in europe for the coming seasons.

Saw diouf's name for kovo tryout. I think because of her height she has difficulty of moving her body, good thing she is not a middle blocker. This santiagosan from Philippines is better in attacks than blockings.

Okay so based on stats she is okay on attacks but not in blockings.

It's good that lot of Japanese players this season played outside japan huh. Tominaga played in Italy.

  • Santiago was effective in attacking in Japanese league, but some factors that contributed to that were also a good setter and the height advantage over majority of her blockers. Had they all been Akin or Jack's height and skill wise on the other side and 3 or 2 of them blocking her at the same time, would she still be as effective?............probably not.

She isn't bad, but not great either......European league of sort is a no like others said. Besides, there are smaller Asian blockers than her and are better both in terms of blocking and attacking and they haven't been called to play in European leagues..................well...................... that is a lie, Pleumjit has played in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia and Chinese leagues before.

Have there been other Asian MB that played outside of Asian leagues that i'm not aware of?

Didn't know Pleumjit played in Turkey, Chinese, & Russia before! Which clubs were she playing?

Santiago is not the player you can depend on to kill the ball all the time. Once you stopped her, she'll crumble. I have watched so many games of hers and she is extremely overrated, like Valdez. She even having a hard time against Tomkom/Pimpichaya block.

  • she played for Huanghe (CHN) in 04, Aurum(RUS) 05-06, Ereğli Belediye(TUR) 07-10, Fujian(CHN) 10-12, and Igtisadchi Baku(AZB) 12-14

besides Pluemjit, Onuma had also played in Russia along side Gamova, koselava and Larson too in Kazan, but mainly as a reciever

agreed and agreed lol......I think have she taken her chance in the USA when she was still a teen, i'm sure she could've been a lot better and promising by now. She was offered I believed was a full on sport type of scholarship to attend UCLA when she was 17, but declined due to personal reasons.

  • Amporn Hyapha also played in Turkey and Azerbaijan before.

All the Thailand's golden girls did play in European leagues at some point in the past.

They're all back playing in Thailand league now.

Thanks, I needed your confirmation, since you would know your own native players better/more than most of us fans lol

That is refreshing to know. I only know Tomkom and Onuma playing in the big league. Thai golden girls are so fun to watch even up to this day. And now the new generations are playing abroad too. Ajcharaporn, Pornpun, Pimpichaya are all playing in Indonesian's league and did amazing job respectively.
