Egonu with a stellar 39(!!) points. No matter if we like the playing style or not, if you can score that many in a CL final you belong to the best ever. Next season Gabi and Egonu in the same team

Big congratulations to Vakifbank, they weren’t as flashy as on some occasions in the past, but they’re clearly the most stable club team in the world both in terms of roster they have on annual basis and level of play that they’ve showed all over the years, and winning every (?) trophy this season is a great reward for that. Gabi is on the verge of becoming my fav player, the clear MVP, not only of Vakifbank team. Simply dominant team with dominant players.
About Conegliano… For the past 18 months I didn’t enjoy the way that they played with so much Egonu-oriented vball. The problem was this season their OH lineup was so much worse that neither the Egonu-ball nor versatile all-round game was really efficient and possible, respectively, because from logics standpoint to play with two offensive Ohs and to have no impact attack-wise from the left wing doesn’t make sense, but obviously it’s not only their fault, weird Santarelli’s gameplan and a fact that in Italy they got used to the fact that this style of volleyball is enough for everyone at the end of the day was also a thing – so it couldn’t have ended with a victory here. So, like I said on the other day in some other thread, I think it’s good for them to rebuild their roster if they want to fight for CL again, it seems investing huge salary to Egonu without world-class OH won’t work outside of Italy in a way it worked when Hill was there. Next season there’s a chance to have great Egonu-sub and world-class OHs at the same time, so maybe watching them will become again enjoyable. 39 points from Egonu on 59%/45%, monster individual performance and routine 1-3 loss – this is awful team-level showcase, at some point they just went into completely wrong direction. And the same for Egonu, it’ll be great for her to play with Gabi The Queen Guimaraes, she can't do on her own much more than she did.

Amazing game by Egonu. Imoco didn't lose because of her. Plummer was tragic. I don't know why santarely kept her in the court.
Imoco lose from a vakifbank who doesn't play their best game.
This wasn't the final who a expected. Many mistakes from imoco.
About Gabi I don't have much words. She just the best outside in the WORLD. A LEGENDARY player.
