Japan Women's NT 2023

  • omg. Nagaoka? i thought she will even retire this season. I almost expected to see her bestie Yuki Ishii next to her.

kinda hoping Akani Yamagishi made it.

Hammy was promising but I guess she dinked her chance.

I wanted Kurogo to redeem herself. ||

  • They have to beat Turkey by all means. If they don't qualify they're going to be at a huge disadvantage if they still have to wait until after next year's VNL. They can't afford to bust the qualifiers.

Also what's with JVA's arrangement don't tell me those are their jersey numbers?

    https://www.jva.or.jp/hinotori_nippon/member/index2023/

    I think it is.

Nagaoka is #7 which is Ishii's number

Koga is 11 which was Nishida's original jersey number

Mayu is 16 which was Kurogo's original jersey number

  • They are arranged per position: Setters, OH, MB, Libero. In the revised post of JVA, Nagaoka and Wada are both changed to OH so every wing spiker is OH.
Then within positions, they are arranged from oldest to youngest.

That thing on the left doesn't that say number?

  • My predicition on the 14 members for VNL

    1. Koga
    2. Mayu
    3. Nagaoka
    4. Hayashi
    5. Inoue
    6. Shimamura
    7. Seki - still main setter
    8. Airi
    9. Kojima
    10. Iwasaki - the new Tashiro
    11. Yamada
    12. Fukudome
    13. Momii
    14. Yokota

Plus the 3 members traveling with them since they're 17 in total

    American Kobayashi, Airi's sister, Nishimura

I'm not sure how it will be between Matsui and Momii but since Manabe left Matsui last time I assume he's taking Momii again

    ___

I personally would like to see Araki instead of Yokota but they will probably stick with Yamada and Yokota. Shion instead of Ogawa even though I excluded her because of Angelina.

  • They don't need 3 setters

  • Maybe if Valdes was half-Japanese otherwise I don't see Manabe choosing her over other half-Japanese players.

How is it for the men's team do they have any non-Japanese in their team?

Valdes is still going through paperwork. Need to have lived in Japan for at least five years for residency, let alone pass exam.

for the men’s team it is easier because if the kids are born in Japan and not with a Japanese parent, then kids choose to play for Japan.

Nagaoka is not making the court in an actual match unless everyone tears ACLs. Basically team is very young outside of Koga.

Okayama and PFU have not been good enough domestically I have players included.
