Japan Women's NT 2023

  • stats list their jersey names. Matsui is using Tamaki even last year.

I remember folks pronouncing Tamaki (and Yoshino) like it was a family name, if you can feel that drift

At least FIVB is consistent across all channels with regards to player names :what:

  • inigo the merch stall is outside. the one jva just posted now koga still has shirts but nagaoka's jersey is really sold out

look at the very bottom of this photo you see on the far left is nagaoka then hayashi koga ishikawa (also sold out)

  • I think those player jerseys are limited each day. I see on the stream that most people are wearing a Japan jersey without any numbers.

  • Why isn't Araki doing the baby serve ?

  • Inoue's got a good back attack. Center of gravity squared up and extra oomph in her swing :box:

  • Half way through set 2 and the commentator is still calling Seki = Shimamura? Am I not hearing that right?

  • love the dub sub :flower:

  • a female commentator calls Ajcharaporn “ Arch Raja Porn” Raja means King in Malay/Indian.... :aww:

Creative free association pronunciation is one thing

I must have mis-heard it. He just called her Seki, I think

  • Wada is on fire 🤟

Honestly, Matsui is not helping her much. Wada has made more tips in her very limited time in two matches than she made all season with JT. It looks like Maatsui is trying to go to her as much as she can so the dub sub makes a mark. It's good, but could be a lot better

Wada looks confident and comfortable, which is a big part of the game. And I think her presence is pushing Hayashi a bit. Hayashi is giving the best performance of this team imo--and she receives so she needn't be worrying

There was that insane play where Hayashi received it, A pass, Araki sliding ride, Koga running up for a pipe, and Hayashi sneaks in there between Seki and Araki for the kill. Clayton Lucas lost his shit :cheesy:

  • The B Sheet isn't up yet but according to volleystation we toppled the cherished 5,000 mark last night with 5359 Spectators

Should be even better tonight against China? Or is it considered a school night?

it will be more crowded tonight. Big rival last time to see the Japanese women live until Olympic qualifiers
