I don't like Seki's technique. Lacks intuition, zero creativity, low robotic tosses in short she's boring and predictable. No wonder Toray still hasn't won championships until now she's bad at creating opportunities in the most crucial moments.
I haven't seen Shibata before. No idea how she does things.

there was a huge change in seki since last year she no longer cracks under pressure. the only other thing i noticed is that she reverts to playing it safest in matches that turn into rallies or whenever japan suffers from the opponents block she doesn't try to switch to plan b/c, her tosses quickly turn basic like she's trying to control the situation but instead she's making it easier for opponents to read the attacks. i'm not sure i've ever seen her incorporate a sneak attack before.

Seki's tried a couple Nootsara->Pleumjit style pitches in transition. They looked WTF for sure. The one to Irisawa, Irisawa's hit went out of bounds left but she got a block touch
I'm looking forward to it if Shibata is going to be there, even if she starts as the dub subber, she might play her way to starter
I'd also like to see Nakagawa get a chance but she's already out of consideration. I've read a couple interviews with her and she always talks about being aware of the other side of the net first and foremost, to give her attackers the best opportunity to score. Never heard the other setters talk about that

Angie Gromos / Kobayashi is in the University selection that will play in the Summer League as training for Universiade. Together with Ameze Miyabe, Yoshino Sato, Tsukasa Nakagawa, etc Maybe this is for the VLeague thread instead?
I'll leave the posting of the list to sitenoise for the table

I've updated the year of the girls still in University. I made the table when they were still in 3rd year. All are seniors now as we enter the new school year

Oh, gosh. This FISU team is so short.

Sarina is in her husband’s (Yuji Nishida’s) vlog

I enjoyed that. Seems like they feel comfortable together

The whole bunch of players are there, including Iwasawa, Osanai, Okawa, Watanabe, Mayu.
Osanai and Okawa are the only ones who didn't play
Where's Airi.
I don't think some of these are correct. Why would they bring Miiku, Osanai and Okawa suddenly?
I mean, I love Miiku and Osanai so I'll be thrilled but I just don't think this is correct.
I'm pretty sure also that Shibata played. She is in the videos of the game

So you think think they got the stat sheet wrong?
I don't know anything about anything

The real question is why is Nishikawa still there?
-
Here's an interview of Angie Gromos. She talked about how she got connected to the National Team, and mentioned that she signed with Himeji???
Some videos of her game also in the video.

manabe always cuts off matsui what's with that...

Didn't Miyabe and Matsui come to Brazil? Is Miyabe being treated as part of their crew now? strictly as a translator?
