Serbian Women's NT 2024

  • Why even release the initial roster and have a "deadline" when you can change it like this, not for medical reason?

Fairly toxic behaviour from Guidetti again:gone:

Surely another person in the "have beef with Guidetti" list then

If they had not published it, FIVB would have published this list because normally the deadline is July 8.

Serbia and the FIVB break the rules as they please.

It is possible to get FIVB to do anything if you have the lobby.

  • this is rich coming from a fan of a federation that gets FIVB to bend the rules for them all time…

  • Yes they made it VERY clear even to public that they fully intended on possibly making changes. Said that many times. It does suck for Jegdic but it couldn’t have been completely shocking out of nowhere.

Player was aware that roster wasn't final. Public was aware of it, so there is no room for being surprise in that regard.

yeah you have perfect point. Since ı support a team of a rich federation, you have easily proven that my post is not true. thanks lol

  • Taking Milenkovic to the Olympic Games with a limited roster a year after he didn't select her for Euro Volley which has more roster spots is crazy behavior tbh. :rolll: My only fear was that she was gonna take the spot from Lazovic. I still think based on the friendlies Laza showed more in all areas compared to her so I still have hope she's gonna be used more but we will see.

It sucks for Jegdic, but I seriously believe the team looks more confident with Silvija on the floor. She has an infectious energy and is the loudest on the court celebrating, she even got Maja to smile a couple of times. :white: Busa is clearly more comfortable with her and I think Uzelac is gonna benefit from her possibly covering in the tense moments which Jegdic probably wasn't gonna be able to do as well based on what was shown in the friendlies as well as the fact that this would have been her first OG as well.

  • This is against the Olympic spirit and values. I hope IOC will involve and give a punishment to the Serbian Federation and FIVB.

Rules were simple, you can change players if there is a recorded injury and problems that limit player's participation.

I think you should write a personal letter to the people at IOC or any other person in charge stating your frustrations and proof of misuse of the rules just so you can sleep easier.

Wishing you all the best. :rose:

Well, don't worry about that. I don't have big expectations.

I don't think IOC is an organization which follows clear rules, kicking russians out and then allowing Israel in is a great example. Also allowing Yugoslavia to compete in 2000 was a bloody decision.

  • I mean Serbia might as well bring everyone to Paris as rules apparently are not rules anyway as long as they make their intention clear anyway

  • Stop pretending like Serbia is the only country that could have done this, like we are getting special treatment. If Guidetti and ossrb knew about it then other coaches and federations certainly did as well. It’s not like we kept this plan for ourselves and only we got to change players, it was made public the day federation published Paris roster.

Now I hate to break it to you but it was not some shady stuff, ossrb published 20 days ago that according to their knowledge “4 players could be changed from wide roster to main roster to Paris” and every other country could have done the same.

If anything I would rly like it if our federation themselves found a loophole in rule and was able to use it, nothing wrong about it. Ossrb is useless for this kind of stuff so basically everybody must have known how rules are gonna be imprelemnted and that there was a way to use the time window that is given.

  • lol you guys have problem with Serbian volleyball federation deciding which Serbian athletes to bring on the Serbian national team? 🤡

And I am telling you that the other federations didn't know about this (maybe Dom. Rep. knew this too). The others found out only after the final team announcements, on 12th of July if I am not wrong. Meanwhile Boricic, who is FIVB Technical Delegate at Paris 2024 all together with Cristobal Marte Hoffiz (also known from doing some dirty things in the past), was the one that was handling these changes with IOC so he knew that there will be changes before it was announced officially. Of course he gave a hint to OSSRB and they instead of keeping their mouth closed wrote this information on their website.

Moreover, the problem here are not changes in the roster, as you said the others can do it also. However it looks like Serbia can make changes because 1.5 week after the deadline the coach decided that some player is better than chosen before, while the others have to show medical proofs. At least that is what others are saying and what is written in regulations.

  • I don’t get why people are so pressed that they switched between 2 very good liberos. Not like we naturalized Arina last minute

  • It is an important change. Do not pretend the opposite. Jegdic is not for the Olympic level. She has not expirience to handle this and she could be a problem.

Jegdic is a very good player lol. A stretch to say she’s not Olympic level because experience. Is Antropova not Olympic level ?

I actually wouldn’t mind Jegdic at all, I’m disapointed she was cut off the roster. Popovic gives stability and energy but Jegdic kept her passing between 60-70% and quality of most of her passes were much better then Popovic eventhough both would be marked as “positive pass“. Both of them have their adventages but saying Jegdic wouldn’t be a good option isn’t really true imo :)

Antropova is for Olympic level because she has proven herself in the highest level unlike Jegdic who hasn't. All I remember from her is that she started in last year's Eurovolley final and failed.
