2023 Women's Volleyball Nations League

  • Is this the first set win in two years, or just this year?

  • Cesar was about to cry but he held it back

  • Omg, Im so happy for Korea, they are not for this level but they are so cute

Im so sorry for German girls for what they will have to expereince from Heynen during this break

Can players give their coach a yellow card:lol:

  • Oh Hanna , you bully :)

  • Hanna gives good interview :rose:

  • ,

It will no be Lubian and Fahr ... Be realistic please. Danesi is still clearly the best Italian middle blocker. Also it will not be Pietrini and Bosetti . It will be Sylla and someone else specially if she continue to play like this... As for Pietrini if so bad as she was in the club she does not even deserve to be in the main roster.

Mmm the statement about Danesi, not sure. This season she has underperformed both in attack and blocking. I'm waiting to see how Fahr is gonna play in the NT post injury. If Fahr is playing better I could totally see a Fah-Lubian/Chirichella as starting 6 MBs.

About Sylla, yeah. She will most likely be one of yhe starting OHs but don't count Pietrini out just yet. Sylla also had a bad club season and see how's she's playing so far. It's not like in 2021 or 2022 Pietrini had wonderful season, they were just average but she went on to play MUCH better in the NT seasons.

  • really? they're not that long...

they're not basketball length but seem longer than others. actually go down the leg . I dunno. just my impression

  • I'm not familiar with the maths but I expect us to lose all four matches in 3rd round, so we might still be out of top 8 eventually...

probably 7W is necessary to be in the top half, with Korea expected to lose every match and Croatia/Bulgaria not much better.

last year, the 2nd-5th lowest team was 4W 8L, which meant that there were less points to distribute among the top half of the table and some teams even squeezed in top half with 5W 7L.

I don't share this pessimistic view. Matches against DomRep are usually pure chaos and basically unpredictable. Serbia was so weak so far, that this time Germany has a chance and even Poland is not guaranteed to win against them - remember the loss against NED. Only USA will be untouchable for them IMHO.

Boskovic will be there next week. As well Ognjenovic. hard to see Serbia dropping a match with them given their opponents.

  • Unpopular opinion:

Thailand needs a foreign coach. They have to change their entire serve game, and focus on passing. I guess they re spending too much time on the combination plays.

Or send their B team to regional events. They send the same exact first 6 to those events. No wonder they'll be tired. Chachu on and Acharaporn also just got back from a very long league then they went to that regional event. They probably have no vacation.

  • Korea, Japan and Thailand need to recruit and naturalize foreign players who are tall and strong. Asians (majority) do not have the height and built - physically weaker. They have to exert extra efforts, so they will get tired quicker. Naturalization is the way to go to make the playing field more fair then.
