Italy - Serie A1 2018/19

  • Britt Herbots won that set!

I think Firenze is playing better still as a team though

Bustos strenth isnt their individual skills but their incredible collective defense in my opinion, they are a mighty tough team to penetrate for any opposition.

  • Dijkema level dropped a lot, way to predictable. They finally took Alberti out, she was playing verry bad. Now we're going to a tiebreak.

  • the Opp of Busto is pretty decent, even outplayed Lippmann after set 2 on. Dijkema indeed especially was so predictable and insisted too much sometimes on certain players.

Busto played amazing after set 2! Herbots

  • The entire Firenze team dropped: no serve, so no block and defence. Also the reception went down amd the attackers lost efficiency.

Great work for Piani, she changed the game. Busto's defence grew a lot and that gave more confidence to them. Well done!!

  • Great defense by Busto, they took everything off the ground!:white:

  • I think, Busto Arsizio showed its quality today despite the already used slow start, even without main attacker Grobelna - young opposite Piani made her substitute well. They lost a point today, but are still one of only three teams still undefeated, together with Conegliano and Novara. The most interesting duel can be with Scandicci, I think.

  • Don't forget that Firenza is missing their main player in team next to Lippmann. Santana is great OH, It looks like She had little injury...

  • Megan and her former teammate in Penn State University Christa Harmatto also suffered the same fate of being injury prone. The latter could've reached the status of Milena Rasic if she was able to keep herself healthy. I remember watching them together with Alisha Glass and Nicole Fawcett dominating the NCAA for 3 years in a row. In fact that batch is considered as the best team in the history of NCAA.

Megan should listen to her body that it's time to quit. It's just sad that she wasn't able to reach her maximum potential.

  • Is it the 3rd time she has the same injury?😱:white:

  • Is it the 3rd time she has the same injury?😱:white:

No. Last year she had it on the left foot and this year on the right one, which I find rather unusual, I would have found it more "logical" if the previously damaged one had torn again. Today will be the final exams but according to the latest articles Imoco's staff is already pretty certain about the diagnosis ;(

  • The video of her injury is so disturbing because she didn't really do anything special - her tendon seemingly just gave in. It's quite unusual without some pre-existing condition, but with her medical history, it's hard to imagine that both she and Imoco's staff weren't being extra careful. It's really strange.

  • Imoco should really be careful... sometimes clubs with such huge $s of investments in volleyball/sports have the tendency to put their money above players health! Even if it is indirectly...

I don't like to think Imoco is like that (or any team really) but the amount of constant injuries in Conegliano is hard to look through at this point. I mean half their team is always injured... I hope it's just them being unfortunate. :(

I hope Megan is alright, but sadly this seems bad news : (
