I thought Thailand is more updated when it comes to vaccination over some asian countries. They still have 10 days? Maybe give it a week quarantine and hydration and all and test again.
I remember that happened to vakifbank before cev they announced positive and all of them made it to cev in less than 10 days all are negative.
Vakif didn't have 22 positive cases though
Wishing the affected Thai players, a speedy recovery 🙏 ❤️

They’re not advanced in vaccination since there was no reason to do so. They were doing well with covid until the just few weeks ago. The people had lapses with covid protocols since they’ve been having zero cases for months.
I wish they would play. The affected ones were young ones and can recover faster than older people.
new to this.
participating in VNL would cost the teams $100k?
is that the usual price? World cup etc..
Actually it costs a team $250,000 to participate in VNL this year.
I extended my sub to Volleyball World TV in 2019 for the World Cup, and I still can access all the replays till now, but checking the VNL schedule, it seems I'll have to pay again to access the VNL 2021 !!
Yeah, confirmed I have to (just by clicking on the hot-linked purchase from the VNL schedule from within the Volleyball World TV website), 20% less for early bird valid till 18 May plus additional 10% less promo code for return client from my email, all priced under the poor man's scheme, the less abundant Asia so I just took the deal and settled.

They don't have the web site up-to-date/clear yet. I'm sure we'll have to pay again, although without logging in or re-subbing, the HELP button at the bottom goes to a page ('copy of privacy policy.html') that shows this:
If I log in I'm nagged to re-sub, and if I click the HELP button in 'my account' area, I get a "404 Page not found".
USA is offered as a billing address option. Brazil is not. So I think ultimately we have to pay again but USA will not need a vpn
I'm going to give it another day or two.
It costs 250k to enter??? well that explains why we dont have a roster from USAV. all of the funds went to enter the tournament

hotel fees, quarantine fees, etc for 25 people. 10k for one person is not that crazy.
BREAKING: Thailand team’s informed by FIVB to make sure of the situation before withdrawing from the #VNL2021 tournament as some of them might test positive for some antibody tests.

FIVB has allowed Thailand to replace as many players as necessary. So seems the fab 5 will probably be back in action.
Hoping for the new-gen golden triangle to be able to play in VNL 😩
When are we going to know if they will still join and who are they going to send? I am ajcharaporn fan and hoping to see her play with chatchuon and pimpichaya.
FIVB are so desperate, they probably couldn't find a team that's willing to pay the fees on such short notice
yeah it isn't cheap
Time is very pressing under the pandemic situation... this is *not* a normal situation thus any team withdrawal at this point of time should be worked out closely by FIVB and be avoided at best -- some flexibility must be applied as needed tho safety remains the no.1.
I wish the Thai team will recover fully asap! 🙏
This is the text from odbojka-volleyball.com, for years official media partner of OSSRB. The text is about rules and protocols which will be followed on the VNL this year.
National team volleyball, the strongest one, has not been around for two years and many have longed for it. VNL 2021 is the first big competition and many can't wait for it to start, but as much as to see the world best teams, so much to see the rules according to which they will play. Namely, due to the fear of the Covid-19, the FIVB first decided not to play tournaments in many countries of the world, but placed all selections in a "bubble" following the example of last year's NBA league in Rimini, Italy. That is what is already known.
But what is much more interesting is what is not known and what are the "rules of conduct" that 16 men's and 15 women's national teams should obey. Judging by the rules, the circus continues. These are the rules:
-Each selection should arrive at least three days before the competition when they will have a PCR test.
-Until they get the test results (minimum 16 hours), they will be in isolation, getting food in the rooms, which they are not allowed to leave.
-Hotel and hall with courts are the only facilities they are allowed to visit (hotels in the hall and back)
-When ordering food at the hotel, players and staff are separated by plexiglass, show what and how much they want and get it
- The game is played on two fields in the fair hall, where there are two more courts for warming up and six for training
-The warm-up is with masks over the faces that are removed only by those who are later on the court.
-Libero and middle blockers take off their mask when entering the game, put it on their face again after leaving
-No singing anthems
-No exchange of badges (flag)
- No greetings
- No change of sides
- No line judges
- No ball collectors
- No field wipers
-Two guys are in charge of everything that is needed regarding the maintenance of the court and bringing the balls
- No locker rooms for training
- No showering after games
-When entering the hall, follow the green line, when leaving the red line
- No reporters
-Each team has the right to one scout in their match, while in the others they do not have the right to access
-After half of the matches played, each team can (some say they have to) change six players, who must arrive exclusively at the airport in Bologna when arriving in Italy.
-You can rent a beach or pool for an hour, but must be announced in advance and booked
-If someone orders something outside the hotel, they must get a special permit, and what they ordered must pass strict control and disinfection
-The mask is an indispensable part of the wardrobe, it is recommended to change it every four hours and only a certain model is worn. If each national team has 25 members, which is allowed by the FIVB, if everyone sleeps for eight hours, it means that four masks are needed per person per day, 100 per day for the team, and for a month of stay about 3000 of the same per selection.
-The test on Covid 19 is done every four days
And what is very important, the "bubble" rules apply to players and members of the professional staff, but not to chefs, cleaners, people in the halls and other staff. They can normally go home, ride transport, be in contact with other people…
There are many questions that the teams of the participating selections asked the organizers and which they defined as "very beautiful and interesting" with the promise that they will do everything to give an answer as soon as possible. And the competition is approaching. This will be a great challenge for the participants, but also for the organizers. Until the first opportunity…
so far we do not have the complete roster of the players who will be on the extensive list of the league of nations. I don't remember that much delay in the other years.
-Libero and middle blockers take off their mask when entering the game, put it on their face again after leaving
This sounds like a joke, what's the point of this
if they're actually covid-positive with the amount of action going on the court it'd already have spread to others .
Not to mention that you should be disinfecting your hands every time you touch your mask
Judging by the rules, the circus continues
if not a mistranslation, I agree with this
That's the thing with rules....once they're so obviously ridiculous and off point in some aspects, the risk that people also ignore the reasonable parts of the rules increases too

Other than the mask nonsense (I can't believe I'm saying those two words after arguing with so many people online about mask usage) most of the rules seem pretty reasonable. I do think that they should have the line refs though.
